What is the primary goal of the hackathon?

Find an idea to answer an important Biotechnological question of today and improve your problem-solving skills such as analysis creativity, and communication. 

Who can participate ?

Every student of EPFL (bachelor, master, PhD) and Schools in Lausanne’s region. 

How much does it cost?

Nothing, participation is free of charge ! 

What material do I need to participate ?<br />

A computer with internet connection and that’s it 😉 

Do I need to come to the campus?

No, the EPFL Biotech Hackathon 2021 takes place entirely online, no presence on the EPFL campus is necessary

How are the projects evaluated?

Different aspects of the projects will be awarded, such as the quality of the pitch, the innovation and creativity and the feasibility of the project.

What are we winning at the end of the Hackathon?

There will be several categories and each winning team will receive a  prize which will be announced at the beginning of the event :

Categories : Creativity — Feasibility —  Best Pitch 

Moreover, there might be opportunities to discuss with companies sponsoring the event for potential “continuation” of the project.


How will the rotations be organized ?

Each coach will stay for one rotation (or more if wanted). There will be two or three rotations of 2-3h on Saturday and Sunday morning. The final schedule will be communicated after the registrations are closed.

Are coaches paid?

No. Mentoring brilliant minds like our participants is your reward. wink
